Overview
A neighbourhood energy network that lets solar households sell surplus power to neighbours instead of wasting it.
The challenge
Rooftop solar frequently generates more than a household uses, while the neighbours next door run generators — with no mechanism to move power between them.
What we did
- Modelled the estate, not the individual home, as the unit of energy sharing.
- Built listing and matching so surplus generation becomes a tradeable local resource.
- Made measurement and pricing transparent to both sides of every trade.
- Created an estate onboarding flow so communities can join together.
The outcome
Surplus rooftop solar is redirected to neighbours, improving local energy access and cutting generator dependence.
